Jim

                Looking at your photo

1st cut away any extra material on the parts

2nd clean the parts to remove release agent

3rd test fit part on top of A post – make any adjustments needed to the furflex so the part fits correctly

4th use contact cement to attach cap to A post metal and furflex

I can’t tell from the original part I have but I believe contact cement should be used with the original part too – anti-rattle insurance

I would be great if someone reproduced the original style part. My guess is most of us would buy a pair of them.

Chris

I got these from SS a few years back. I do not see them listed anymore.

Never did figure out how to install them.

Would love to see a photo of originals in place on car.

This is an over molded rubber on a sheet metal clip. You will only find these parts on a parts Alpine or Tiger. I’m not sure if other models use it but possible.

I don’t think anyone is making an exact reproduction of this part.

There was a reproduction part that glued onto the post but I’m not sure if that was CAT or not.

Check with Sunbeam Specialties to see if they have them or know where to purchase them.

They were selling both in the parts room at the TE/AE event recently and nobody knew what went with which. Mine are the wide ones (000331).

Also, showed my car for the first time there, and got dinged for not having a rubber cap on the top of the A pillars. Anyone know where those can be found?

Hello,

Just finished looking in the Alpine (Tiger) parts book, Section YX illus. D226-228

I'm trying to figure out which cars had the narrow B-post caps and which had the wider ones.

2220784 & 5 were superseded by 2226242 & 3. Looks like a running change of some sort.

Then, on Tiger 38200389, the above was subbed to 2235594 & 5.

Anybody know?

Further, there is described but not illustrated a seal between the b-post and the above noted Capping piece.

I've never seen one. Anybody?
