                The small fitting is part of the heat riser choke system.

Parts list section AF, plate D, part # 149.

 

Steel pipe goes from air cleaner to the bottom of the stock Ford exhaust manifold.

 

Distributor vacuum advance goes to the base of the carb.

Hi,

 

On the oval style air cleaner base there are two hose fittings.  The larger one goes to the air breather on the driver's side valve cover.  What does the small fitting hook up to? Vacuum advance on the distributor?
