From darryl.bourne at rbc.com Tue Jan 13 07:33:15 2026 From: darryl.bourne at rbc.com (Bourne, Darryl) Date: Tue, 13 Jan 2026 14:33:15 +0000 Subject: [Tigers] Considering selling my Tiger... Message-ID: <6ce0b26090b7480aafbdf1dcc2779528@rbc.com> Good morning all. I am considering selling my Tiger as I haven't driven it for 3 year and have put less than 1000 km on it since the rotisserie restoration which was completed in 2008. As I would prefer a Tiger enthusiast be the next caretaker of the car, I thought to start with this forum. A brief description noted below... 1965 Sunbeam Tiger - 500-1000 km since the restoration - TAC'ed in 2009 - Porsche guards red - 100% restored in pristine condition. Long-term ownership (since 2006). I am the 3rd owner, purchased the car in 2006 and proceeded to restore at our family's mechanical & body shop over the following 3 years. The car is 100% restored and the "absolutely no expense spared restoration" tackled everything that should be done to a Tiger. The rotisserie restoration saw the car taken down to the bare metal, media / soda blasted, then repainted (Porsche guards red) to a concours level finish. The underside was painted and clear coated; the underside is nicer than most cars top side. The 289 V8 engine was taken to a high-performance Ford engine builder and dyno'ed with 400+ HP (dyno sheets available); an insane amount for a car weighing nothing. Everything has been addressed including replacing & upgraded every bolt on the car. The many upgrades include, but not limited to...fully rebuilt & upgraded engine with aluminum heads, roller rockers, cam, MSG Ignition. Factory manifolds and an all-new stainless steel exhaust system were installed with DynoMax mufflers. This Tiger has a spectacular soundtrack, both at idle and at full bore. Wilwood brakes on all corners to help with the stopping, aluminum rad to help with the cooling (common Tiger issue with such a large engine in a small area). PanaSport wheels, and tires (with 500km on them), LAT hood, LAT traction bars, frame reinforcement plates from Ken Wilcox installed (also a common weak area on the tiger), along with stronger Tiger Automotive fulcrum pins, new suspension (Koni shocks), steering components brake lines, fuel pump, short shifter, the rare and original air cleaner. The chrome, stainless trim was replaced / refinished, including the bumpers, new Tiger script, and it proudly wears correct V8 emblems The interior is also perfection. The carpets have been replaced, new Moto-Lita wood steering wheel, a new walnut dash with cubby door, upper & lower dash pads, seats and center console reupholstered, and both the speedometer & tachometer are new. A new convertible top was installed, and this Tiger has the desirable "clam shell" convertible top covers. An unrestored Tiger hard top is also available. A true collector's Tiger - restored, powerful, and beautifully maintained. One of the finest examples available... A couple questions for the forum... 1. Is there interest from anyone on this forum? 1. Are there other Tiger forums I should consider reaching out to? The car is in Calgary, Alberta and can help facilitate any requests or transportation. Pictures are available - please reach by replying to this email or texting / calling my mobile at 4036304188. Then today I got six Tigers email in succession. This seems odd and why I'm inquiring. I did nothing to change any email setting. Thanks, Tom - 26 year Tiger owner..., and still on jack stands.
