Try contacting your local glass shop.  You know, the people that replace 
windows.  Preferable one that does custom work.  If anyone has a way to coat 
glass they would know.

Other wise try cleaning the inside of the lens thoroughly.  I would 
recommend brake cleaner or acetone.  Then try painting the inside of the 
lens with a translucent lacquer paint or a very thin coat of non-translucent 
lacquer paint.
