[TR] leaf springs-Polyethylene plastic-teriann wakeman

Listers,
I saved a post from Teriann from long long ago concerning leaf springs and the 
use of Polyethylene plastic strips between leaves rather than cleaning up and 
using grease.  TeriAnn had used that method and was very happy with it.  I'm 
wondering if anyone else had done that and do they continue to be happy with the 
results?  Does the plastic ever wear out?  Is there a big difference in ride 
quality with this method either using grease or the plastic?
  
I have my leaves separated and just wanted to check with the list on latest 
info.  I was disappointed in that 3 of the tabs I bent out broke off.  I'm 
assuming I can simply weld them back together and they'll still keep the leaves 
straight.  Makes a person wonder about quality.
