[TR] Spotted in La Jolla last month -- exactly *what* did I spot, though?

Driving colleagues through the small streets in La Jolla in late February,
I saw an interesting vintage sports car oncoming.  Grabbed a couple of bad
shots before it got out of sight.

But exactly what is it?  I can't really even offer a guess...
