After changing out he bushings I?m finding that the drivers side is within spec, but the passenger side is 3/1/2 degrees negative reinstalled the original trailing arm brackets in the original configuration. I had installed adjustable trailing arm brackets about 10 years ago, but when I inspected them this spring the bushings were really destroyed. I?m not sure that the damage was due to crappy bushings or that the adjustable brackets were causing a problem. Although the stock brackets are simple, figuring out how to configure the brackets to get the camber right is much more difficult than adjusting the adjustable brackets. I?m going to reinstall the adjustable brackets. Being able to adjust the rear camber without disassembling the whole rear suspension is a great advantage. The bushings I used were from a UK outfit who claimed that their poly bushings were of the same ride quality of the original Triumph rubber bushings. I got them because I wanted to keep the ride quality as original. Given the low yearly milage I now drive my triumph, a maximum of 25,000 miles since I installed the bushings, they pretty much self destructed. My new bushings are Superthane. It?s rainy and icy here in Boston today so perfect day to get this suspension done. There are a bunch of different shapes and sizes available. https://www.summitracing.com/search?SortBy=BestKeywordMatch&SortOrder=Ascending&keyword=universal%20overflow Along with the coil which I?ve moved off the engine, away from the heat and vibration, I?ve got the overflow bottle and coil mounted side by side on the drivers side inner fender wall. When I look in the radiator when cold, the coolant is about 1/3 deep in the neck, and it?s about halfway up the clear tube on the side of the overflow bottle. What model fuel pump is it?? Is it one of those pulsing models?? Those I think just use the spring to determine the pressure.? The only thing that could cause those to over pressure would be a piece of debris caught in the spring. A rotary style most likely has a pressure relief valve.? If the valve gets clogged the pressure will be uncontrolled. The old mechanical fuel pump was bad and I already had promised the parade lap at lunchtime to one of my student employees. Answer ? install an electric Facet pump. There?s not a lot of room on a GT6 and those pumps work best if they are mounted low on the car, preferably below the tank. I mounted it on the side of the left front frame section. For a ?Sunday Night Special? modification, it worked great ? we all enjoyed the parade laps at Lime Rock. Those pumps do make a ?ticking? sound but you would never hear it when you are driving, in my opinion. A stock, mechanical pump is still available from one of the big two for about $40 but I needed to get this car running with only a 5 hour window to do the work. The other nice thing is that after a long storage time, the engine fires right up ? no need to prime the carbs with excessive cranking as there was with the old pump. The other challenge was finding a path to run a switched 12V source to the pump and then fishing the wire around that incredibly tight dashboard/cowl area. I know that I should install an inertia safety switch but the car will be going up for sale sometime as I can no longer easily enter it or extract myself from it. If somebody wants the info, I can probably dig up the NAPA number for the pump that I used.
