While I have never seen a Gremlin raced, I have seen a Pinto raced
successfully. The first Datsun 510 put on a race track must have seemed
a bit strange as well! How about the first time someone raced a Mini?

I am having trouble picturing a Gremlin as being a race car. It puts me
in the mind of picturing a Pinto as a race car. Some things, I am just
thinking, just should not be ;^)).
