Hi Norm.

Bob Harrington passed your question on to me regarding a replica Lotus
23. The problem lies in how people define a replica. SVRA defines
replica as "a race car whose actual construction was by someone other than the
original manufacturer, or at a date later than the original production run.
The car must accurately meet the period specifications of the original".
If one goes by that definition, there are many "replicas" running out there,
some posing as originals. There is also the Mercury out there, which was
a clone of the Lotus 23. It is period, looks like a 23, but really is not
a 23.
As a "replica" goes, everything on the car would have to be as the
original: brakes, suspension, engine, etc. As a result, I would need many
photographs of the car and specifications before it could be considered.
This may not answer your questions but I hope it helps. Please let me
know.

All The Best,
Ray Snowdon
