Message-ID: <3f4ee.11f3c0d2.39522b96@aol.com> Hi VTOW members, I received the following message from vintage Triumph racer, Bill Dentinger, that I though would be of interest to some of you. I just got back from a fine week end of vintage racing at the BLACKHAWK VINTAGE CLASSIC. One of the pass out materials in our Driver's Packet was a post card promoting the 60th Anniversary of 1950-1952 Road Races at Elkhart Lake to be held in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin September 10-12, 2010 (the same week end the VSCDA holds its Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival at Road America). This event is NOT a VSCDA event (although we are involved and certainly support it). It is orchestrated by the Historic Race Circuits of Elkhart Lake Preservation Society, Post Office Box 51, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, 53020. Their telephone number is 920/558-9808. They have a website at www.HRC60th.com. Their celebration will include the VSCDA vintage racing activities at Road America, an Old Timers' Reunion, a Kettle Moraine Road Rally, a Car Show with Concours d'Provenance, a Road Course Race Reenactment, and a Dinner Banquet. All this sure sounds like stuff the members of the Vintage Triumphs of Wisconsin would be interested it, but I am not sure who to notify. Sooooo....I come to you! Message-ID: Amici... During the summer my daily driver is a 1962 TR4. This morning at the local restaurant where I often stop for coffee and to read the paper, a guy was quite fascinated with my car. We got to talking and he said years ago he had a new TR4A (IRS). He said he still has the original tonneau it came with, which he described as being in very good condition. He said he's been meaning to put it on eBay, but never gets around to it. He asked if I was interested in it. I am not. I already have two for my car, and further, I think there may be a distinction between the TR4 and TR4A (IRS) version (at least Moss lists different part numbers. Anyway, they are about $700 new these days, and I think he said he wants $150 for it. I have NOT seen it, nor do I have any financial interest in this matter. If you want to check it out, the guy's name is John Gunney. He lives in the metro-Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, and his telephone number is 262/781-3937.
