[WPTA] Dwell angle adjustment

All,
I recently gapped a new set of points to .015 mm, on the Spitfire then wanted to check the dwell angle.  My son and I checked the dwell this afternoon and found it to be slightly out of spec at 42.3 degrees. Spec shows 40-42 degrees. 

Does one take the vacuum advance hose off so it is a ‘true’ angle measurement?  Mine is connected and visually pulls a vacuum on the distributor.  Is this small amount mean there should be less or more of a gap?
