I just saw a post on FB that it is done as of this year.   Rumor that the site sold to a data center for around 100 million.   Another track gone.   So sad after all the improvements.

That is sad. Many good racing memories in Wampum, Pa!  Mid-Ohio is now the closest track I think.

Just yesterday, I was looking at the PVGP events page where it listed all
of the event dates for next July, and the Pitt Race weekend was on there.
My guess is that PVGP was blindsided by this too. That, or they were told
ahead of time but told not to scrub it from their website until today.

Guess I'll need to find another place to get this shot:

WPTA Holiday Party

We are pleased to announce that the upcoming Holiday Party has been scheduled for January 17th from noon until 4:00. This year's event will be held at Shakespeare's Restaurant & Pub located at 1495 Mercer Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117 (www.shakespearerestaurant.com).

This new venue will accommodate over 100 guests in the same seating area and has ample parking. Offered will be a buffet style meal with a variety of selections including mixed greens and fresh fruit salads, steamed broccoli, Penne Ala Vodka, smashed redskin potatoes, and three entrees including stuffed chicken breast, smoked brisket with BBQ glaze and sole with crab meat stuffing. An assortment of desserts will also be offered.  A cash bar will be available in the banquet room.

The cost for this event will be $50 per person and the cut-off date for reservations is December 15th.

Each member that attends this year's event will receive a custom embroidered shirt as a holiday gift. In order to orchestrate this, we will need your reservation by December 15th and will also need your size. Please specify your size as small, medium, large, extra-large or extra-extra-large, and include that information with your payment.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Pittsburgh International Race
Complex has been sold and will no longer operate as a motorsports facility.
The PVGP has enjoyed an outstanding partnership with the track since
launching our Historics there in 2004. It has been a cornerstone of our
event and we?re grateful for the memories, and the incredible racing we?ve
shared there.


The weather will be sunny with a high near 60 degrees and no rain in the
forecast, so join us tomorrow, Saturday, November 1, as we say goodbye to a
legendary venue. In a generous gesture to the motorsport community, Pitt

   - Similar to what the PVGP did at lunchtime at Pitt Race each July with
   fans getting to experience a thrilling 2 lap ride on the track.
   - We are asking all licensed racers to bring out their race cars or
   sports cars and offer track rides.
   - A 20-minute track session is reserved each hour for charity rides.
   - Spectators to make a $50 donation per passenger ride in a racecar for
   2 laps! All proceeds benefit PVGP charities. Credit cards accepted
   on-site for rider donations.
   - These laps, while spirited, do not exceed 70 mph. Helmets are not
   required for the drivers or passengers.
   - There is no cost for our racers to participate, but they must email
   our Competition Director, Joe Teplitz <jdteplitz at pvgp.org>,
   <jdteplitz at pvgp.org>to let him know they are coming. We have some great
   race cars coming out to join us!
