If not being original is ok, then you can add shocks that are used in hatchback cars, and even MBZ have them on the front bonnet. You will need to weld or screw two brackets to support them.

I have disc problems that often make weight of ZB hood a problem.  Looking at the ZA hood diagram in the parts manual it looks as if it is spring assisted.  Am I reading drawing correctly???  If it would be helpful how difficult would it be to add that spring to my ZB? Has anyone else had that problem -- if you have how did you solve problem?  Could someone send photos of spring  and how it has been mounted? All sorts of questions..  Thanks, Arch

I tried this before but it came          back, sooooo.  I want to replace my front engine mounts.  Mine          are circular with a center mounted stud.
