I did them for my MGA and got them from either Holden, or Anglo Parts in Europe. You can get their cataloge on-line.

If one wanted to buy new Wheel Box rubber bits the circular ones that have the angled end, where might one look?

While they are off, it wouldn't hurt to soak and rub those wheel box rubbers in/with some warm olive oil to return some of their suppleness...

MG put very few unnecessary or "extra" parts in their cars.

Usually I get the posts back, when I don't I figure it didn't go through, the Rubber pieces that go around the wheel box shafts are the problem and I wonder if they are really necessary? The Scuttle vent is already installed and I HATE to take it back apart. One step forward two steps back....

Mike, it just so happens that I installed my wheel boxes and tubes before installing the scuttle vent, and had no problem. I didn't try to do it the other way 'round.  If you're having  a problem, this might be at least part of your answer. If you do remove the scuttle vent and mechanism, draw a lot of pictures and make notes to yourself on how it comes apart because I remember there were just a whole lot of incorrect ways to put it back together such that everything fits but nothing works!
