Michael;

Welcome to the group from the very last newbie.only preceding you by a week
or two in joining the fold. As everyone has said, this is a very friendly
and very helpful group. I have been made very welcome and several members
have already expended more than a little effort in helping me find the right
ZB. Lots of knowledgeable folks here and they seem to be quite willing to
share that information and deal with those less experienced/knowledgeable
(like me!).

Would love to hear more about how you added trafficators to your car. The
first Magnette I ever saw was a monotone owned by the neighbor of a friend
when I was in high school. I heard there was an MG for sale and the price
was right ($350) so I bicycled over to see the car.I recognized the MG
crest.but little else. It was such a neat little car and it had
trafficators. I remember seeing them pop out of the side of the car thinking
how radical that was.Still love them today.

I now turn my newbie hat, with pinwheel, over to you.

Hi Gang,

We have yet another new member. This fellow is at least a half-time
resident of my home state of Michigan - and that now doubles the number of
known Magnette owners in Michigan. His name is Michael Bright and he writes:

"I've had my car for three years, having found it on ebay, the spring of
2011 I think it was. It was in Los Angeles and was white. It was sold by
the family of the owner, who had recently died, having owned the car for
only two or three years. This owner, in turn, bought it from someone in
Arizona. I'm fortunate to have a lot of the shop records for the car. It
was restored with an engine rebuild in the late 1980s, and, if the odometer
is correct, has only ten thousand miles since then. Original 1500 engine,
the only modification being the gear ratio in the differential. The entire
car is largely original although I'm not a purist either and, for example,
have added trafficators. I've thought of installing the MGB 1800, but my
engine runs fine and I don't take the car on long trips as you do...

I do have another MG, a 1953 TD Mark II, which I keep in... Georgia, where I
spend half the year... My father bought this car for $600 in 1960, and I
have had it since his death in 1976. Spending half the year in Michigan, I
had to have an MG there, and so I bought this one. The only Magnette I had
ever seen belonged to a college classmate--this was back in 1963 or
1964--and I guess it made a lasting impression on me..."

I am so happy to have a ZMG compatriot in Michigan. Will you please join me
in welcoming Michael Bright to our looney bin of certifiable Magnuts.

Cheers!

Allen
