Given my current geriatric state of mind, plus the fact that I'm working so slowly I'll forget by the time I even correct this side, let alone get to the other side, hey it could end up SPACERS 4, ALLEN 0. I'll try to remember to report if I happen to get it right.  And all of this after being so careful to get the shims perfect before packing the bearings.  What, oh WHAT was I thinking????

But isn't this part of the fun?  Aren't these moments the reason why we prefer to screw these things up ourselves rather than hire some expert to get it right the first time - and in about one-fourth the time anyway?  We don't have to tell lies when we kick tires together - the truth is good enough.  And, at least at my age, we can re-use these same stories year after year and they'll be just as good because nobody will remember anyway...  Next Easter, I'm going to hide my own eggs.
