Michael,

If you are looking for a oil bath air cleaner, Wayne has at least one, it is in ruff shape, but can be cleaned.

Hi Gang,

We have a new member! From way up in northern California - a lot closer to Oregon than San Francisco, we have Michael Mitchell, proud owner of a '58 ZB. Such a Magnette freak - he has retired the letter "S" from his computer keyboard, replacing it with the more important letter "Z". I hope you will all join me in welcoming a true Magnette enthusiast: Michael Mitchell.

Michael and I met on MGE where he asked me about venting the crankcase with the aftermarket aluminum valve cover. I told him that I have been using a vented oil filler cap, along with the usual vent from the front tappet cover to the bottom of the sump - only since I'm using the Basil Adams tappet cover (which I LOVE!), I had to drill/tap that for a crankcase vent. At any rate, Michael needs two things: a correct original ZB air cleaner; and some advice as how best to rig his venting (since he has the aluminum valve cover). Drilling the aluminum cover to plumb to the air cleaner is a little bit easier said than done as it involves drilling down through the cast aluminum ribs with a Forstner type bit first to get a nice seal from the hose fitting to the cover. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Cheers, gang!

Allen
