Hi Storm!

I wish you the very best of luck in your hunt for that most desirable of Magnettes... the Varitone! (I know, I know... both Queen Lou AND Gerald Palmer would disagree...) I am sorry to hear that you missed John Davidson's car, it is a good one. The issue, of course, is that it IS a good car and it was priced quite a bit below its' actual value. A real Magnette Varitone with an 1800, 5 speed, disk brakes and wire wheels (in Ivory over Back with red trim no less...) for the price of a used Toyota. I know John Park's car and Jim Schulte's car, both are very sweet rides and well worth the asking price - even though both are priced higher than what John was asking... As we in the looney bin know, the Magnette is one of the best kept secrets on the road - the grace and pace of a Mk II Jag with far less pain. (Yes, I know how much Jag bits cost!)

Keep looking, keep in touch with this tribe and your garage and driving gloves will eventually be rewarded with one of England's best. We are all here to help in any way we can.

Welcome to the party!

Currently he is racing a factory BGT V8, which he acquired as a rather nasty basket-case sitting outside somewhere in CT. I ran across him on the BAT discussion following the listing of Steve Kaufman's old car, which apparently was owned in the interim by a John Davidson, and which rather quickly sold again, escaping Storm's reach.

Jeff's car is now sold also, we're waiting to hear about Jim's and John's, although Storm has a pretty strong preference for a factory Varitone. I have just put him on to the new listing in San Diego and that's where we stand at the moment. Anybody know of any others? It would seem that the traffic in the Magnette market is picking up a bit - or is it just coincidence?
