For those of you who struggle with the mysteries of the Magnette heater and have heard of Steve K and Allen Bachelder's excellent adventures at Magnette 60, I would strongly advise that you seek out and obtain the January issue of Safety Fast! by the MG Car Club. Don't get Safety Fast!?  You should invest in a membership in the most excellent MG Car Club! The Magazine, Safety Fast! is well worth the price of admission to the club.

This month's issue has a superb (almost as good as Steve and Allen's recount in the last issue of MGA! IMHO...) telling of the Magnette 60 event, but also a quite thorough discussion of the heater, valves, vents etc. This includes tips on improving the airflow and proper set up of the system and a good description of how it all works.

It only looks complicated... a wee bit of the amber nectar and a few minutes with this article and the WSM will make it all perfectly clear. It truly is quite an intriguing bit of kit... and works well once sorted...
