[Zmagnette] Time for Grill Badges again?

Someone in our group was getting some from Merry Old England I think, and these would mount under the driving / fog light s on the bumper mounts for those lights. No new holes... I think this project was being ramrodded by one other Steve...ie Steve Kirby.

I have been thinking about making one for a few years now. If there is demand I could actually build a prototype witb the intent of making them for the group, assuming I can build snd plate them at a cost that makes sense. The only one I have seen on a Magnette was mounted to the bonnet requiring drilling 2 holes in the bonnet, which is not acceptable to me.

What we need now is a badge bar on which to mount it.....

  Allen,
I'd like a ZMG badge at around $30.

Now that the list seems to be functioning again, I'll send this out yet once more - for those of us who haven't seen the picture. Yes, this is the round badge that we sold back in 2010. It is a nice badge.

    Cheers,
    Allen

' Tried sending this on the list and it bounced. Looks like we still have problems. At any rate, here's my message...

' Seems I'm always selling grill badges. Last year it was the Magnette 60th badges. Remember the grill badges we ordered for GT35 in 2010? Pictured below. Mike Hickman called yesterday to tell me that the NAMGAR regalia store is out of stock. We have quite a few new members since 2010, and Mike needs to restock the store. Here are the terms I've received for an additional batch:

Die Struck Iron soft enamel grille badges in a 3 inch wide size with two 3/16 inch diameter surface mounting holes.
      10 pcs - $48.00 each, plus $17.00 for delivery. Total $497.00
      25 pcs - $36.00 each, plus $22.00 for delivery. Total $922.00
      50 pcs - $25.00 each, plus $49.00 for delivery. Total $1,299.00

Production will take 3- 4 weeks.

As you can see, unit costs go down drastically with volume. I think over $50 a pop for just ten is a little rich - and I don't think the store could sell them for that. But if 15 of us would like them, I could order 25 and I'm hoping NAMGAR would take 10 off our hands. Note that the delivery charges above are bulk delivery to me. $922/25 = $36.88 each. Using flat-rate padded envelopes I could probably get them to you for about $40 each. Or do we have a market for 40? Here again, I could order 50, NAMGAR takes 10 and I get 'em to you for about $30 each.

These are really nice badges. ' Think we sold over 100 of them before and folks were delighted with the quality.

At this stage, send no money - I'm just testing the waters. If you would be interested at $30 but not at $40, I need to know that too. Once I have some notion of how many we're good for, as usual, I'll ask you to "put your money where your email is".

Since they need 3-4 weeks for production, by the time we complete the ordering process, it's pretty doubtful that we'd have these in time for GT39. ' Just want you to know that in advance...

    Thanks!
    Allen
