[Zmagnette] another new MG?

I wouldn't get too excited just yet. Concept cars are designed to be
edgy. Production cars are designed to the lowest common denominator. No
telling what it would like when it hits the showroom. Better I hope.

But, it if leads to a decent two seater sports car.... well, you take the
good with the bad.

Amen to that, brother! At best, it looks like a clinically obese B/GT,
and that only because in the midst of all the bulging fat, there is a '73-74
grill sort-of stuffed in there between corpulent cheeks. Absolutely
hideous! But of course, America is so desperate for another SUV that it will
spontaneously sell like hotcakes, right?

NOT!!!!!

PS: Now an MG-badged Solstice... that might lead to something - and since
SAIC owns the rights to both MG and Pontiac (as well as Saturn), it's a real
possibility. There's only one other two-seater sportscar available on
the American market right now: the Miatta. That's an easy market to compete
in, and once there's some jazzy press about how well this new MG-stice
performs, then maybe a few people will come into the showrooms to look at one,
and then drive out in one of those gross pigs wallowing in its excess
sheet-metal. Speaking of showrooms, how do the Chinese acquire a string of
those? Do they expand the Chinese restaurants?

Try as they might, this isn’t even close. Maybe with a bottle of cheap
red wine (and I don’t even like red wine), make that two bottles, I might
sort of recognize the grille as being somewhat MG like . . .

give it up
