Ghia Gilda

Star of the 1955 Turin Show, the aerodynamic car, designed by Savonuzzi (formerly at Cisitalia).
Ghia claimed it would reach 140 mph with a dohc 1491 cc OSCA engine fitted, though it seems unlikely that Gilda ever ran under its own power. Work began on the project in November 1954, Savonuzzi decided to build a design study that took imperfectly understood science of vehicle aerodynamics as far as possible.
After starring in a number of European shows, Gilda was offered free of charge to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn; in October 1955 it was shipped to America where it went on show there.
