John Mayor has had a Jag limo made by Majestic, a British coachbuilder.
For the new XJ series, Jaguar introduced the official stretched version.
From now on the Daimler models Six and Double Six will be made in short form
for special orders only, the sporty Jags: XJR, Sport 3.2 and 4.0 didn't have
the lengthened variation, so what remains is: Jag XJ6, Sovereign and XJ12.
Prices for the new long wheelbase models range from 32200 pounds for the XJ6
3.2 to 65950 pounds for the Daimler Double Six.
The new models incorporate a 5 inch (125) addition behind the centre pillar
which means an extra 4.5 inches (115 mm) of rear legroom. This new models is
being built on the same line as ordinary XJs, with new rear doors, new body
sills, a new roof and revisions to the rear pillars and screen. Official
estimation is that 20 % of buyers would want stretched models, but this
number may go higher.
The top model is the Daimler Double Six with 6.0 litre V12. Features: twin
operated individual rear seats, where one can electrically adjust the cushion,
backrest angle and lumbar support.
On Daimler models and long wheelbase versions of the Jag Sovereign and XJ12,
rear seat passengers may also adjust electrically the position of the front
passenger seat.
Jaguar claims no changes on vehicle performance.
