Morgan 4/4 Series II Competition Cars?

Last update: March 30, 2006

A while ago, a young lady emailed me asking about the chassis numbers of the 4/4 Series II Competition cars that the factory built. Owning a 4/4 Series V, I knew that The Factory made the Series V Competition. However, I was unaware of the Series II Competition cars. When I asked some of the Morgan Historians I know, about the Series II Competition models, both Gerry Willburn and Richard Williams came up with some interesting information. Many thanks to both of them for providing different parts of this data. I mearly put their information together as one document.

The 37 "Competition Models" were:

Some other interesting items:

A272, A280, A284, A285, A321, A327 and A347 were shipped with Aquaplane heads, but were not listed as "Competition Models."

A608 and A621 had "Alexander" heads (whatever that was) with twin SU Carbs..

A296 (wonder where it is) was an "Experimental" 4 seater, and A613 was built with an alloy body.
