Europe's biggest sportscar-collection was CLOSED in February, 2006 and the collection has been transferred to the Louwman Collection Nationaal Automobiel-Museum in The Netherlands.

Formerly an industrial building, this huge, restored house now represents the finest of the German vehicles: airplanes, locomotives, cars, submarines. From May, 1995: IMAX cinema and "Motel in Museum". There's a collection of musicboxes as well.

It's the central office of the Museum Association as well. On 35000 m2 there are about 2250 items: 350 oldtimers, 40 race- and sportscars, 15 locomotives and 60 airplanes (some of them exhibited outside the building)

Chronology of the Germany motor industry. When You enter You can see a copy (should I say replica?) of the Benz Patent Motorwagen 1886 and the Daimler Wagon as well. In this hall there are sculptures of the pioneers exhibited. And then while You walk through the rooms of the museums You will be introduced to the history of the pre-2nd WW German car makers (like Röhr, Adler, Horch, DKW etc.) and there are features on other great marques like Porsche, and one room is devoted to the various Kleinwagens.

Around 60 cars and some motorcycles on display, many German in origin. Strong microcar element but big cars too, plus collection of typewriters, radios and other artifacts.

BMW Museum Munich

The Museum is being upgraded so up to 2007 the collection is being housed at the Olympiatower across the factory. Location: Beside the main BMW factory opposite the Olympic stadium north of the city centre
Opens: Mon-Fri 9.0017.00; Sat 8.30-13.00. Closed until 2007!!! Temporarily the collection resides in the Olympiapark
The heritage of the Bayerische Motoren Werke has 81 exhibits in an extensive and technically advanced setting.

Housed in the former stables of Langenburg Castle, 80-strong collection with a good spread of interesting cars including some excellent racers and sports cars of the Fifties, but many rarities too. E.g. there's an Einspurwagen (a two-wheel car), a Goertz-designed Porsche prototype, early, the 1934 prototype of the Neumann Neander, an interesting lookin' trike, pre 1st WW German cars etc.
