Ramon,
Wow, that was pretty fast! I only mailed it wednesday.
Well I'm not back at work yet since we seem to have a bit of
a flood problem here at my house today. I got a little over 8"
on the prop last night. It has receeded to about 4" but is
due to rise again this afternon.
Pretty inconvienint/catastrophic here. The shop was flooded and
anything worth saving (tiger parts) were moved as high as possible.
The Tiger 260 motor is suspended by the engine hoist. We had a close one
about midnight, the waters reached the top of a levy formed by the
RR tracks that run along side the house. A inch more and the water
would have been over and we would have seen another 6 to 8 inches
on the prop. All one can say at a time like that is, oh F***.
The Tiger is on the MONDO jack stands so it is safe unless we
get unprecedented rain fall, at that point the water is in the house
and I probably won't worry much about the cars. I managed to get the Alpine
up on conventional jack stands yesterday afternoon but the bottom third
of the tires were submerged at the peak about midnight.
I pulled the filter adaptor before the flooding started
and everything looked good. I think I just got some bad rod
bearings. I hooked up an aux pressure gauge to verify that
the pressure really was bad and not the gauge. I wasn't able
to get it real warm because of the weather but at idle
I only had about 12psi and maybe 25psi at cruise. I think
it would be lower if it was real warm.
Well, I probably won't be working on the cars for a few
weeks because of the major clean up ahead, talk to you
soon.
BTW, I sent this to the Alpines reflector because I am still
having trouble getting to you and I though they might be
interested in the flood report.
