I got to work a little late today, and so I had to park in a
different spot than I usually do, next to the plant managers
new car. Shortly after that, another guys truck rolled
across the parking lot (brake wasn't set good I guess) and
his back bumper smacked into the hood and body area just above
the grille (dented the area under the "S" in Sunbeam).
After the plant manager thanked me for saving his car from
certain death, I had to deal with the poor fellow whose truck
did the damage. Fortunately, he has insurance. Unfortunately,
(for him) it appears to be of the "high risk, high cost"
variety. I don't want him to lose his insurance over a claim
like this.
SO, does any Bay Area member of the Alpine or Tiger list have a
dent-free hood for a Series I? I am going to take my car to the
body shop for an estimate (so the other guy and I can settle on
fair compensation), but will fix it myself if I can get a
good hood. Thanks!
