Oh, didn't know about that. Years ago when I saw my first Mazda
conversion, the guy said it fit right in... used the same hole for
the stick shift... must be the early 4-speeds are smaller? Or he
had a different idea of easy conversion.
Having had an '81 Rx-7, I know the 5-speed is a slick tranny though.
Be worth a few cuts in my Alpine.
The other fault is that the rotary has HOT breath.. the exhaust routing
could be tricky. Rob's wife Jenifer told us her lipstick melts in the
trunk! Not a problem for us but you don't want it to melt you battery
or gas tanks either..
