I received a copy of the Chilton's book as a present just after I bought my
first Alpine, a 1969 fastback Coupe back in 1979. It was picked out for me
because it has a picture at the beginning of each chapter of a 1969 fastback
Alpine or a Sunbeam Arrow sedan. However, there's absolutely no information
on these later "Chrysler U.K." products to be found. Copywrited in 1969, the
book seems to have been actually written around 1966 or late 1965, as it
covers 1725cc engines, but only the Tiger "260." It has a few interesting
tables covering various specs for the entire Rootes line (eg. Lucas
light-bulb part # 's), but overall its one of those books you wouldn't take
off the shelf very often to make an actual repair. For Series V owners, the
factory "Light Car Range 1725cc Manual" is the best, followed by Autopress,
Ltd's "Hillman Minx 1965-67 Autobook." I think Sunbeam Specialties carries
reprints of the "1725" manual.
