Kurt,

We be here!

I can't help you find Sunbeamers in your neighborhood,
but I can tell you that "TACs" and "TACing" and "TAC events"
are sort of evolving acronymic (acronymic?) terms associated
with the Tiger Authenication Committee (TAC). It's a function
of the Sunbeam Tiger Owner's Association (S.T.O.A.), headquartered
in the San Francisco area. They take a look at Tigers to determine
whether they are original Tigers or rebodied/converted from Alpines.
They then issue a Certificate of Authenticity to authentic car owners,
and put a small sticker on the structure under the dash. For this
to happen, they need the concurrence of three trained inspectors, plus
a willing owner--four Sunbeamers at the same place at the same time
constitutes an "event," and these have thus been dubbed "TAC events."

> Hopefully the proud owner of a series II/III really soon!

Go for the III!

Ramon

P.S. If you "know about Tigers East/Alpines East," why not
join? Then you can go through their roster and find
      fellow Sunbeamers in your neighborhood.
