Sounds like carb rebuild time. Worn needle valve(s) is a likely cause if
the engine sounds like its actually missing at low RPM (flooding). Victoria
British in Lenexa, Kansas sells "grose-jets" to replace the needle style
valves. Supposedly very long lasting. Mine have worked for two years (35K
miles) with no problems.
I'd also check the floats for proper level and possible leaks. A unisyn is
also a good investment for top performance.
