Where's the VIN

OK all you Alpine owners, I need a little help.
Can anybody tell me where the VIN (vehicle ID number) is located?
Is it indeed the one on the plate at the right hand side on the top of
the firewall. As you lift the hood the plate is there but I'm not sure
if this is the engine number or the VIN.
Mine ends with the letters LRX.
