Thanks to everyone who has replied to my posts about buying Alpines, it has
all been very useful. I attended a Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club meetin last
week and had a pleasant evening chatting about the cars and a ride in one
(thanks Russell). But I have decided not to buy one at the moment. There are
a couple of reasons for this: one is partner-pressure - she doesn't like
them and as it will be our only car if I bought one now I have to take that
into account; the other reason is that when I started telling the Alpinophiles
that I would have to sell my Midget to but one a little switch flicked back
intop place somewhere inside me (heart? brain? I don't know) and I realised
how much the Midget means to me and how mych fun we have had together and I
couldn't really let it go.
If I can ever afford to run more than one lbc, and I want a touring sportscar,
the Alpine will be right back there on my list. But for now I'm gonna stick
with the Midget, enjoy thrashing round country lanes and put up with the
hard ride.
Cheers, Happy Motoring.
