One of the Alpines may have had something other than a Rootes engine. I had
always assumed the racy high-rev sound coming from the Alpine was dubbed.
 HOWEVER, if you look closely at the Alpine just as Arnold has hopped in
behind the wheel and starts backing up in the parking garage, I think you'll
see a side exhaust pipe protruding from the rear of the RIGHT FRONT FENDER
WELL.

The pipe doesn't show up on the Alpine as it pulls INTO the garage.
