I think these are a great idea; I thank Tom for his initiative. The
lists and web pages are all about getting information to those who
need it in order to keep their cars running. I can't think of
anything more appropriate to this goal than tech bulletins.
As long as we only publish official Rootes bulletins, and not any
particular club's published tech tips, there should be no problem. I
don't think the copyright of the Rootes bulletins is really an issue,
because (1) we are not making or even attempting to make money via
publication, and (2) the legal copyright holder, whoever that is, is
not attempting to make any money via publication either. So the
argument that we would be depriving the legal copyright holder of
their livelihood just doesn't hold water. Note that I am not a
lawyer.
On a related note, I own a copy of "The Sunbeam Survivor" by Tigers
East/Alpines East. I have asked them for permission to publish some
of that information on the web page. As soon as I know something I
will report back.
