+ve/-ve earth

Hi.

As my previous two posts for information were answered in full and with
speed I thought I'd chance my arm and try for a third. I've been
following the +ve to -ve earth conversion discussion on british-cars
and/or alpines and came to the conclusion that -ve earth and an
alternator would be a good thing for my 1962 Alpine S2. On inspection I
find that it is already -ve earth with (obviously) a dynamo. My
question therefore: is -ve earth original and standard or has it been
converted? I was under the impression that it should be +ve earth but I
am not sure where I gained this gem of information (perhaps from
previous ownership of a '65 Minx which was +ve earth).

Whilst knowing the answer is not of greatest importance, I would
probably check the electrics a little more closely when fitting an
alternator if a DPO might have been at work.

Cheers.

Dave W.
