I always thought it was "neat" to have one of the last Alpines. Mine
is number B395018417 which is 705 from the last, B395019122. If you
divide the number of Series V's (19122) by the number of months that they
were made (Sept. 65 to Jan. 68), not accounting for down months, you get
660 per month, which puts mine about the last month or two. But, I got
to thinking over the weekend about what it must have been like then and
whether or not the employees knew that the end was upon them, and what
kind of pride or quality they were putting in to the cars -- although I
have never found any problems with the car that I would call quality
related. Does anyone know about what went on at the factory at the end?
