I remember someone a while back complaining about the bearing noise from
their generator. My generator has also been very noisy and when the
pulley almost fell off I discovered why. The pulley on the generator is
not a press fit and actually fits very loosely without the nut to hold it
tight. You may want to check that your pulley is bolted down tight if
your generator is noisy. Mine is now very quiet. Also, remember to oil
the wick at the back of the generator regularly.
