Be careful trying to fix this. I tried to disassemble my mirror with
disastrous results. I broke the shaft going in to the ball and socket joint.
Now I have to either use an old Alpine mirror (different shape) or try to use
some sort of epoxy to glue it together.
You may be able to squirt some sort of damper into the ball and socket joint
to help absorb the vibration. Maybe some RTV sealer pushed it with a
fine sliver of wood, or just the piece of wood itself would firm up the
structure.
