I have been trying to find new bulbs for my turn signals and back up
lights. The bulbs in the car were "OSRAM 382". I called a few local
shops to find that no one knew of, or had a cross reference to, OSRAM.
They only carried Sylvania. So I thought I would call Sylvania. I
grabbed a package of Sylvania bulbs I had, looking for a phone number, and
noticed Sylvania is called "OSRAM Sylvania"! Further proof of the
incompentence of sales people -- and does anyone really believe those shoe
salesmen at places like Foot Locker who always seem to have owned (and
loved) the pair you are considering?. So I called OSRAM Sylvania figuring
I was in luck. Unfortunately, they did not have a cross reference in
their newer books, and did not have any older books.
They suggested two bulbs: 1073 rated at 200 hours with 1.8 amps and the
1156 rated at 1200 hours with 2.1 amps. I also found (from Sunray
Lighting) that there is an 1159 with 1.6 amps. They are all 12.8 volts.
Anyone with any thoughts?
