I watched part of the show and did see the Alpine. There was even a
scene showing the dashboard while she was driving where, if you looked
closely you could see that the speedo was not working! We should get her
on to our e-mail group.
I also rented Butterfield 8 last night -- for two reasons. First, of
course was the see the Alpine (though E.T. looked smashing). Second, we
just put in an offer for a house that was designed by, and currently owned
by the widow of, the guy who designed the sets for the movie, and won an
Academy Award for the sets. Further, there is a bar in the house which is
supposed to be from the movie. Well, we are 1/2 an hour from the end and
haven't seen the bar yet. Our guess is that the broker has her movies
messed up -- i.e. which he got the award for and which contained the
bar. Anyway, the Alpine has quite a few scenes and looks great. I can
also confirm that the picture in McGovern's book, showing E.T. and
captioned as from "Human Jungle", is from Butterfield 8. So, what is
known about this "Human Jungle"?
