Maybe your being a bit paranoid.  I've seen tigers which have been 
destroyed in wrecks but never an exploiding tank....Then again, maybe you 
could mount a tank on your hardtop and save on elctricity by using 
gravity feed.  (Save on electricity??!?)  Only joking, honest.  Hope you 
find a solution to your "long weekend thought".  You might also consider 
keeping your critter under a blanket in the bed.
