Overdrive switch

I finally found an overdrive switch! It is new and there are others
available for 8 pounds plus 5 pounds shipping! There is one problem -
isn't there always? It looks and feels right, except the lever is not
horizontal, but turns down about 45 degrees. So, if you could just rotate
the lever up, it would be perfect. From what I gather, the switch maybe
from another application as well. I asked if they thought if I
disassembled it, I could rotate the lever somehow, or have it heated and
re-bent (after the rubber covering and end were removed). They were
concerned that since the switch is spring loaded, it may be difficult to
put it back together without appropriate factory tools. Any thoughts or
suggestions?

... well, I disassembled it. Actually the loaded spring piece does not
need to come apart to get the lever out. The lever rotates on a small
pin which is pressed through it. To get it right, I would have to drill
another hole through the shaft at the correct angle (did I hear someone
say Dremel?).

Jay.
