Re: all keyed up
Subject: all keyed up

I acquired two keys with the Alpine S.II I bought in September. One fits
the ignition switch (not original) and the other, while the right type,
doesn't appear to work in any of the other 4 locks (console, doors, and trun
k).
It also looks like I am going to have to replace at least the trunk cylinder
.
Two questions:

0 Does anyone know how many keys originally came with the S.II and on
which lock each worked? For example: did the ignition key also open t
he
      console, doors, ....?

0 Any ideas on how to match cylinders so that I can avoid having 3 to 5
      keys for the car?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Regards, Bob Douglas '62 S.II Dallas,TX
***** NOTES from Jay Laifman (JLAIFMAN (at) PNM) at 12/6/95 4:33p
For what it is worth, I have two keys. One with an oval head which
works on the doors and ignition, and one with a round head which opens
the trunk and the glove box. Neither of them have any Rootes/Sunbeam
markings on them. And certainely nothing like my dad's MG TC key (he
doesn't have the car any more, just the key) which is very ornate with
some animal (I think) carved on it.
