I just joined the list and have been browsing the excellent web pages.
I came across reference to "SB" in the November archives. This is a
question I have had for a number of years. Both of my series 2 Alpines
have the SB in the chassis number, but neither has OD or any aluminum
panels. What can the SB stand for in this case? Did they just have a
bunch of left over plates with the SB already stamped and need to use
them up? The SB is not stamped on the engine block. I would certainly
appreciate any clue that can be shed on this.
I apologize if this thread has been thrashed to death, but I am really
curious.
