Intro, Query

I am a fairly new subscriber to this list but I bought my first Sunbeam, a
Tiger, back in 1970, right after getting married and on the way to my first
duty station in the Navy. I owned it for 18 years and never regretted a
minute of it, as it was my main transportation, and never let me down in
all that time. It was completely unmodified, and the only serious work I
did on it was some body work and painting after about 10 years. I sold it
in a brief but intense period of madness which involved aviation and was
sorry almost immediately.

In reading some of the postings describing what a modified Tiger is
capable of, I can't help but remark that a stock Tiger (or Alpine) is just
about the best form of reliable everyday transportation I have ever owned.
Great mileage, effortless cruising, all the power you could ever want for
sane use, easy repairs, and the feeling of driving something very special.

All's well that ends well though and I once again have a Sunbeam in the
dooryard, (Tiger MK1 9470706), which I had the bittersweet experience of
purchasing from it's original owner of 30 years. I think he would have
been happier parting with a leg, but events forced the sale.

Anyway, after the long introduction, the pitch: I am looking for a round
corner hood in good shape and available within reasonable pick up distance
from Maine. The one mounted now has been modified for a hood scoop and I
prefer the simple lines of the original. If you have or know of one could
you please contact me directly and spare the lists the distraction? Thanks
in advance. Ron Franklin
