Warner T-5 or better conversions

Please share your thoughts, suggestions for a Midwest Sunbeam Club project.
Since our Alpines are greared low, and overdrives are premium, so has anyone
had success grafting a Warner T-5 or other five-speed? We're looking at the
1725cc, but any other experiences would be appreciated.
