I have two questions for the group.
First, does anyone have any experience with putting the windshield back
on? When I reassembled the car, using Sunbeam Specialties dashtop and
rubber seal under the windshield frame (which is a beautiful piece of
rubber), the whole frame leaned back too far. Then a double miracle
occurred. First, in the middle of the night I awoke to remember that
there were two little plastic wedges that went between the frame and the
car. Second, I found them! Obviously, they helped big time. But, I
still feel as though it should be pressing a little bit further forward.
Was there also some putty/filler that might have been in there
between the wedges and the frame that raised it a little more? I do
recall that there was some sort of goop/sealant. But, I don't recall if
it was not evenly spaced.
Second, horns. A long time ago, one of my horns stopped working and the
other was not all that strong. I bought a pair of horns locally and
installed them. They do beep when I press the button (after re-wiring it
for a relay). But, they do not sound as good as I recall the originals.
Can the originals be cleaned and repaired? I seem to recall an
adjustment. But, that after a while there was no more room to go on the
adjustment and the horns would not work. Also the horns are sealed. Do
the rivets need to be drilled out to get it apart and cleaned?
Thanks for any help
