Alpine Design

There was a thread a while back about the design of the Alpine. One of
the items discussed was the appearance of the rear wheel well and how the
wheel looked too recessed or something. Someone commented that they
thought wire wheels seemed to look better there. I just discovered why.
In looking at the Workshop Manual for the Series V, I noticed that the rear
track width is 2 inches wider for wire wheels over steel wheels. (The
front is only 0.25 of an inch wider.) So now you know.
