Jim -
The joints where the round section of the cooler meets those square
elbows are just solder joints. I had to resolder mine last summer and
had the same problems as you getting the thing out. I finally ended up
having to cut the nuts off, I used a cutting torch. For new nuts 1/2"
pipe thread is the clear ticket to happiness. As for the cooler
becomming blocked, if you take it apart it should be easily fixed. Those
little wires for cooling on the outside are also on the inside. A little
flushing with gas or a solvent I think would clear it out. Mine was
clear. Hope I've helped!
